About
About Community Ventures Botswana
Creating practical opportunities for stronger, healthier and more sustainable communities.
Our story
Community Ventures Botswana was founded on the belief that meaningful development requires more than temporary assistance.
Communities need access to platforms, facilities, knowledge, partnerships and opportunities that enable people to improve their own lives.
CVB works with communities, government institutions, private-sector partners, sporting bodies, development organisations and educational institutions to design and implement initiatives with measurable social impact.
Our programmes place particular emphasis on youth and women while remaining inclusive and responsive to the wider needs of the communities in which we operate.
As a nonprofit organisation, CVB reinvests its resources into programmes and projects that advance its community-development objectives.
Our Origins
From grassroots beginnings to lasting impact
Community Ventures Botswana grew from years of practical involvement in grassroots sport, wellness and community development. Through associated businesses and community partnerships, the work that inspired CVB supported junior squash players competing in South Africa, a taekwondo athlete participating in a championship tournament in Zimbabwe, a squash player pursuing a coaching opportunity in Canada, and Botswana's Women's Rugby Sevens team.
This commitment also led to the establishment of junior and business squash leagues, two community 10 km fun runs hosted in partnership with Fearless Fitness Club, and employment and temporary work opportunities for former players. At the National Squash Centre, it further inspired the creation of a green calming garden where athletes, families and community members can relax and connect with nature.
CVB was established to bring these efforts together under a dedicated nonprofit organisation — transforming individual initiatives into structured, sustainable programmes that create lasting impact through sport, skills development, wellness and environmental responsibility.
